Ever since Martha Stewart featured this river rock boot tray, they have been all over the blogoshpere.  The whole idea goes something like this: wet, snowy boots dry faster when placed on the rocks.  Water drips off the boots and between the rocks.  Water accumulates in the tray and eventually evaporates.  Then you occasionally rinse out the tray, instead of dealing with puddles on the floor.

It may not seem like it from our lack of snow (no complaining here!), but Minnesota winter is here.  For us apartment dwellers, that means boots sitting out in the hallway to dry.  Luckily, we live in a close apartment community where our belongings are safe in the hallway, but I don’t think it’s really the best looking option.  I have been thinking about making this boot tray for a while, and yesterday I finally made it – for under $10! I’ve been doing a little bit of crafting with sequins, but am not ready to commit to a sequin/bead organization box or system.  So, in the meantime, I have a $2 solution from K-Mart: ice cube trays.
