One of the perks of Christmas merchandise finding its way into stores before you’re done saying “trick-or-treat” – autumn craft supplies go on sale quite early. I was wandering JoAnn Fabrics during their Veteran’s Day sale, and stumbled upon 70% off fall florals. So, I picked up some fall leaves and berries to have on hand for craft projects. One such project took me about 10 minutes to complete last night.
I snagged a plain white candle (also on sale at JoAnn), my leaves, craft glue, and scissors. Mike had taken over all counter space with his school work, so I worked on the floor and (unsuccessfully) tried to practice “sit” and “stay” with Pippa.
I stripped the leaves from their branches and applied glue to the backs where the veins would be.

I then placed the leaves around the candle.
Some rubber bands around the candle held the leaves in place until the glue dried.

For future reference: Pippa thinks craft glue is a chew toy.
